UDA secures cabinet nod to acquire 44 state and private land plots for development projects

The Cabinet of the Ministers granted approval to the Urban Development Authority (UDA) to acquire 44 land state and private land plots to implement number of development projects in major cities including in Colombo.
The proposal was presented by the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing yesterday.
Accordingly, 39 state land plots and 5 private lands plots would be acquired by the UDA as per provisions Land Ordnance of UDA and Land Acquisition Act, the Government Information Department said.
It noted that embryonic activities pertaining to these projects has already been initiated.
