Ltd, a long-term investment holding company with interests in the capital market and real estate sectors, has pledged Rs.225 million to support flood relief and post-disaster rebuilding efforts, underscoring the growing private sector participation in the national recovery initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commitment is being made through its subsidiary, Almas Equities (Pvt.) Ltd, a Securities and Exchange Commission-regulated and Colombo Stock Exchange-licensed stockbroking firm.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the pledge, Almas Holdings Chairman Imtiaz Buhardeen handed over a cheque for Rs.100 million to the President\u2019s Secretary for the Rebuilding Sri Lanka President\u2019s Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group has also earmarked a further Rs.125 million specifically for flood relief and reconstruction activities in the Kandy district, one of the areas severely affected by the recent flooding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said the funding is intended to support the immediate relief as well as longer-term rebuilding efforts, in coordination with the national authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Source: Daily Mirror <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almas Holdings (Pvt.)
