The Sri Lanka\u2013Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hosted a business networking session recently at Marine Bay, Colombo, in collaboration with a visiting delegation from the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), Penang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 16-member delegation, representing 16 diverse companies, was led by Dato\u2019 S. Parthiban, President of MICCI Penang. The session provided a valuable platform for Sri Lankan and Malaysian businesses to engage in meaningful discussions, explore potential partnerships, and identify new avenues for collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key sectors represented included aviation services, food manufacturing, halal-certified products, ICT infrastructure, software solutions, energy, waste management and trade. Discussions highlighted a strong mutual interest in expanding bilateral trade, particularly in areas such as sustainable products, integrated food solutions, and technology-driven services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Marshad Barry, President of the Sri Lanka\u2013Malaysia Business Council, who warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of strengthening commercial and institutional ties between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was followed by remarks from Dato\u2019 S. Parthiban, who shared valuable insights on partnership opportunities, trade expansion, and cross-border business engagement between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
