AIA Insurance & PodHub highlight Noeline Pereira’s journey to authentic well-being

3 min read

The 4th instalment of PodHub and AIA Insurance’s compelling four-part ‘Rethink Healthy’ podcast series featured Noeline Pereira, the founder of the vastly successful ‘Noeline’s’ salon chain. Her story and philosophy truly epitomise the campaign’s core message. Noeline is much more than a mere businesswoman, she is an advocate for wellness who embodies balance, discipline and compassion throughout every facet of her life.

AIA Insurance’s ‘Rethink Healthy’ campaign underscores the importance of maintaining both physical and mental health through emotional resilience, meaningful relationships, and even financial and environmental balance. It is a reminder that wellness is not only reserved for the elite, but that it is a daily practice meant for everyone to access in their own way.

Noeline’s personal and professional journey is a testament to her inclusive vision. She launched her salon during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as a response to a humanitarian crisis, as opposed to a commercial venture. Having seen the struggles of beauty service providers during that period, she set about creating a safe, all-in-one space where clients could access everything from nails to hair under one roof, with ample parking.

In essence, what Noeline began as a passion project evolved into a business with four franchises and over 120 members of staff. The venture was driven by a clear understanding of people’s needs and a desire to provide a holistic service for the mind, body and soul.

In Noeline’s heart, beauty and wellness are much more than services offered at a salon. She described that ‘Noeline’s’ as an experience, designed to help people feel seen and valued. Every detail, from the architecture to the customer service, has been curated to ensure comfort, warmth and acceptance. Her goal is to make people feel at home and contribute to their emotional and mental well-being.

Her approach is grounded in consistency, intention and self-love. As such she treats her health routines with the same importance as a board meeting. She plans her meals in advance, commits to her gym workouts several times a week and engages in sports like badminton and padel during weekends. Her most sacred ritual is her nightly 5km walk, which she refers to as ‘me time’. It is a moment of solitude and mental peace, after days full of responsibilities.

Her consistency is not driven by aesthetics, but by the belief that the body deserves care and respect. She avoids alcohol, minimises processed foods, and always makes mindful choices because of their lasting impact on her physical and mental well-being. Having recognised that not everyone is on the same level or even the same starting point, Noeline encourages small, gradual steps towards a healthier life. This includes cutting down on sugar, committing to short walks, or simply focussing on hydration. Her advice is simple yet powerful, ‘try it for 21 days, and let your progress be your motivation’.

It is also her hope that the beauty industry will begin shifting away from unrealistic perfection, and more towards a sustainable, authentic view of beauty. One that honours individuality and confidence, as opposed to trends and filters.

Despite her disciplined lifestyle, Noeline advocates for flexibility. It is her belief that a missed gym session, isn’t a failure, but an opportunity to adjust, whether by resting, eating lighter or moving differently. Health, for her, is not rigid, it’s responsive and adaptable.

Noeline’s message is deeply resonant, “You live in this body, and nobody else is going to look after it. It’s you and this body, that is all you’ve got.” This mindset captures the very essence of AIA Insurance’s ‘Rethink Healthy’ campaign, which is that wellness begins with oneself, and that self-care is not selfish, but essential.

As AIA Insurance continues to advocate for healthier, longer, better lives, voices like Noeline’s serve as powerful examples of what health can truly look like—real, personal, balanced, and sustainable.
