Colombo Bourse ended the day in the red zone at 9,233 losing 52 points as mixed sentiment was observed in turnover settlement and investors took a wait-and-see approach owing to market uncertainty, First Capital Research said.

A depressed level of turnover continued from the previous session and retail selling pressure emerged across the board on LIOC and Expo Lanka due to month-end margin calls. Market turnover recorded at Rs. 861.0Mn (-54.4% cf. monthly average turnover of Rs.1.9Bn) contributed by the Capital Goods sector (20%), Banking sector (14%), and the Energy sector (12%).
