President Anura Kumara – Meets the Chinese President
2 min readThe official meeting between Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Chinese President Xi Jinping was held at the Chinese People’s Hall. A very proud welcome ceremony was organized with a parade, and the Chinese President welcomed President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and after a cordial conversation between the leaders of the two countries, bilateral discussions began.
The Chinese President said that he is ready to work together with Sri Lanka for a new era of development.
Recalling the long-term relationship between China and Sri Lanka, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that he is ready to cooperate with Sri Lanka in the future.
After the official meeting, several memorandums of understanding related to economic and social fields were also signed between the two countries.
“Sri Lanka is very happy with the economic, industrial and technological cooperation development of the People’s Republic of China as well as the tremendous development achieved in human development + our government stands for the One China policy in all fields including bilateral and multilateral forums.The Republic of China has played an important role in the socio-economic development of Sri Lanka for several decades and I hope that these visits will strengthen multilateral cooperation for the betterment of our countries and peoples.
Then Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake paid floral tributes to the monument of Ma Osetung, the founder of the People’s Republic of China.
The Presidential Media Division stated that the President also visited the Kung Palace Museum, a historical place in China, and the exhibition hall showing the history of the Chinese Communist Party.
